Interim Gym Expansion is well underway!

It's been exciting to see the Beaches Community Centre (BCC) gym expansion in Victoria Beach evolving on schedule! The expansion will more than double the footprint to 1035 sq ft. The previous under utilized woodwork area in the East Beahces Social Scene(EBSS) basement has been patched and painted to give the space a fresh new look.

Thanks to all the volunteers that made the first stage of the expansion possible, including Bill Squires, Gary Wingate, Bill Hurtig, Murray Otter, Andy Humphreys, Dave Morrison, Dean Zimmer, Kelly Premak, Krista Gibson, Ron Rietsma, Dave Ross, Chris Zeller, and many more behind the scenes that contributed to progressing this important community project.

The expanded area is now ready for flooring to be installed. This should be done by Dec 1, pending delivery of flooring. The final step is to install the new equiptment. It has been ordered and we anticipating that it will be delivered and installed by Feb 1, 2025.

The interim gym has a 3 year lease with EBSS, which will give us data and trend line for future needs. We have had 100 members join for various memberships over our first year, and are thrilled with the interest and how our interim gym has begun to meet more health and fitness needs of our communtiy.
